FOREST AND BIRD LIFE PROTECTION.
PALMERSTON PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY'S PROPOSAL SUPPORTED. Press Association. —By Telegraph. WELLINGTON, March 31. The council of the Forest and Bird Life Protection Society decided to approach the Premier in support of the proposal of Palmerston North Philosophical Institute to increase the area of Tongariro National Park by embracing the forest in the vicinity. It was also decided to endeavour to bring about the reservation of several areas in Wellington and Auckland districts.
