MELBOURNE, yesterday. A reception was held in the Town Hall in honour of British politicians. There was a representative assemblage, including the Hons. Joseph Cook (Federal Premier), Mr A. Fisher (leader of the Opposition}, and the Hon. W. A. Watt (State Premier), and Lord Richard Neville. Great enthusiasm marked the proceedings. MELBOURNE, to-day. The Richmond Borough Council unaninmously resolved: That no contradiction be given to the reports that Mayor Webb purposely omitted the toast of "The King" at a recent official dinner because he held Republican views, and in consideration of the citizens, Richmond was deeply concerned thereby. This Council places on record that the views of the Mayor are not held by the Council and declares its unwavering loyalty to Monarchy."
