This film is a very long one and only half of it could be shown. It was preceied by a brief programme which included a charming scenic of Bavari?, and two goo • comedies.

A brief outline of t e story of Jean Valjean, ttie giant hero of Hugo's story, we have already given. It is foil «:f incident an i a most stirring narrative. Fuller's excellent mechanism enables them to present this film as perfect as it is possible to do so. Last night t»e spectators were held intent right to tha finish The misfortune" and good fortunes of Valjean were closely followed. The ecenery is most realistic; the scenes are place-i in their proper localities, even to t< e ancient convict prison an J quarries of Toulon. Again the scene changes to tha beautiful coontrysirte of France and the village life in all its simplicity and quaintness is faithfully pourtrayed. The acting is superb, and the realisaj is greatly assisted thereby. Les Miserables is one of the most striking pictures Palmerston has been favoured wit 1 and it is vainable also as acquainting all who sea it with one of the French classics. Messrs Fuller had made special preparations for its prod ction. One feature was the really splemid playing of the oro h estra which consisted ot specially engage! musicians. Its playing of suitable music was greatly enjoyed.

Les Miserables will be repeated tonight at Fuller's and t ere should be a packed house, for a picture of t lis description is not to be missed.
