MENTAL HOSPITAL CASE
AW INVESTIGATION GRANTED
Mr T M Wilford (Hott) asked the Miuister for Justioe in the House if he woull immediately cause an investigation to be made into the case of John Merrie, who was recently committed to the Porlraa Mental Hospital Mr Wilford explained that he ha I put a question on te order paper t > fis effect, but he had ce tain information which he could aot divulge in the House, and w' ioh made the need of an investigation an urgent matter. He ha < reason to believe that in this case there had been a gross miscarriage i f justice. The Hon A. L. Her man replied f'at he would be very please ■ to have an investigation ma e at once. The matter had been br ught before him also by the member for Wellington Snb rbs (Mr W. H. D Hell) As soon as be inquired into the case would bring She mattar before Cabinet.
