Lonlon, Sept. 18. Renter's Peking correspondent says the Powers have complained bituerto f uitlessly that instead of the salt tax, guarantee of the recent loan, being collected as pro< mised before the salt left the factories the salt was sent all over the country uutaxef It is persistently reported that an agreement has been partly reached, whereby a Gorman Lient.-General an! a staff of six officers and an interpreter will be employed at Peking, besides two hundred German officers beng distributed throughout China. It is estimate 1 t at cost will be two hundred thousand sterling, of which Erupps provide fifty thousand.
The strongest opposition is expected on the i*art of the other Powers.
