Dannevirke. —Mr E. A. Ransom was elected Mayor of Dannevirke unopposed. There are fourteen nominations for tli;' nine vacancies -an the Council. Pahiatua. —Mr David Crewe, the sitting Mayor, and J. D Wilson, ex-Mayor, have been nominated for the Mayoralty of Pahiatua. Only seven candidates have been nominated for the nine seats on the Council, requiring fresh nominations to be invited for the vacant r,eits. Christchurch. —Three ••an<lidates were nominated for the City Mayoralty, namely, the sitting Mayor (Mr H." Holland), a l abour candidate (Mr T. J. Mcßride), and an Independent. (Dr. Thacker). Candidates representing the Citizens' Association and Labour tickets were nominated for the Central, St. Albans, and Linwood Wards, while for the Sydenham Ward practically only the Labour ticket is represented.
