Carpenters are wanted in several instances, and also a few tailors and several experienced tailoresses and dressmakers. ' ; The outlook is very hopeful. j j Building trades: Bricklaying fair. Carpentry and joinery very busy; J S men wanted. Painting busy. Plumb- 1 j ing and gas-fitting good. StonemasI onry fair. Woodworking trades: Boxmaking very slack. Uabinetmaking and up- I J holstering good. Coopering slack, j i Sash and door factories, sawmilling j | and wood-turning, etc., good. Engineering trades pre very busy. Leather trades: Bootmaking (fac- i tories and repair shops) fair. Sad- j dlery and harnessmaking fairly i good. | Clothing trades: Drassmaking and millinery good. Tailoring (factories j and has been very busy dur- I ing the past month. | Retail trades: Clothing and boots j * fair. Agricultural operations: Farming, dairying, etc., fairly busy; sufficient local labour offering? Miscellaneous: Max-milling is now in full swing; all workers fully employed. Unskilled labour: There have been a few callers at this office for work and twelve men have been sent to employment.
