FIRES.
AN AUCKLAND BLAZE. (!*rw AFBociation. —By Telegraph. Auckland, Yesterday. Albon's rope works at Mangere were totally destroyed by lire on Saturday night. The building and plant, valued at £750, were insured for £4OO. OILSKIN FACTORY BURNED. DUE TO A CAT. Napier, Last Night. About 10 o'clock to-night an oilskin factory owned by J. J. Blackburn was totally destroyed by fire. Seven machines in addition to about 800 or 900 coats were destoyed. The damage is estimated at over £SOO. Tne building and the stoek and machines were insured in the State Office. The lire was caused by a cat upset* ting a bottle of methylated spirits on to a lighted candle. Be wise in time and insure against loss with the Northern Assurance Co. C. F. Spooner, Chief Agent, Cole's Buildings, Palmerston North.***
