SINGULAR MISHAP.
STONE OVERTURNS TRAP.

Dunedin, Last Night,
Charles Edwin King, aged 28, was killed at Puakanui, 'last night. He was with a companion in a trap when the horse backed, and, the wheel going upon a stone, the trap was upset and fell over an embankment, turning over thrice in the descent. It was stopped by a fence at the bottom.
King fell under the cart and received injuries that caused his immediate death. His companion was unconscious for a time.
They were proceeding to Puakanui to spend a week-end at camp.
