A DESPERATE CROWD.

At Monlak, Montana, a big crowd lynched a negro named Collins for shooting the sheriff, named Courtney, and wounding the deputysheriff, named Burmaster, while they were arresting him for beating the wife of another negro.
The crowd riddled Collins with bullets, hung him on a pole and tried to cremate his body.
