ENTERTAINMENTS.

FULLER'S NEW PROGRAMME,

Two features of outstanding merit are promised in the new picture programme to be opened at His Majesty's Theatre to-night. One is the Italian brigand drama, " Fra Diavolo," and the other is a powerful and lengthy detective drama entitled "Mystery of the 7 o'clock express." These are two famous dramas which have created a furoie elsewhere, and Palmerston will not likely be found less emotional to-night than other towns have been. "Fra Diavolo," the cenI tral character of the drama bearing bis name, is a very daring brigand who, though a reward of 10,00# dollars is offered for his head, takes many risks. At a certain tavern he discovers a rich English nobleman and his bride, the latter hampered with much jewellery. He consequently ingratiates himself with the bride and learns the route they are travelling, finally in disguise holding up the coach and securing part of the jewels. The rest are concealed, but the wonderful Fra Diavolo calls upon the distressed bride, sympathises with her, and learns where she kept the rest of the jewels. That he afterwards secures these is a foregone conclusion, bat there are some Stirling times in the doing of it How he fares in the later encounters may be left to the patrons to-night to discover. Equally fascinating—perhaps more so to some—will be '' The Mystery of Express. " It is a story of a railway crime for which the suspicion, by some strange mixture of circumstances, rests upon a gentleman to whom the deceased lady's daughter is betrothed. There is a most sensational trial, in whick a clever young lawyer learns the name of the accused man and produces at a dramatic climax the real murderer—a woman. It is rare to have two features of such great merit as these will prove in the one programme.

The rest of the programme is of the usual interesting nature.
