Mr William Lorimer, one of the Empire Trade Commissioners, interviewed, said it was quite obvious that the general prosperity of New Zealand is the result of her rapid and steady development of land settlement.
An outstanding feature of the extraordinary development of the country is the manner in which her production is increasing. This was very gratifying, as there is an unlimited market in England for Australasian produce. Scarcity of labour, he considers, is the most vital of the problems of New Zealand.
