Five members of the Wellingtou Slaughetrmen's Union now on strike, started work at the Gear Coy.'s works this morning, and others have secured hooks and will go on killing to-morrow. All th« old hands offering cannot be accommodated, as the company intends to stick to those who came to its assistance after the strike began. Not more than one-third of those who went out ' will be able to secure their old positions. The new Union of Slaughtermen, when registered, will be known as the Ngahauranga andPetone Union, a meeting of the men on Wednesday deciding *n the inclusion of the word "Petone."
