MEAT STRIKERS.
THEIR BILLETS FILLED. flPreai Association. —By Telegraph. Wellington, Last Night. Five members of the Wellingtou Slaughetrmen's Union now on strike, started work at the Gear Coy.'s works this morning, and others have secured hooks and will go on killing to-morrow. All th« old hands offering cannot be accommodated, as the company intends to stick to those who came to its assistance after the strike began. Not more than one-third of those who went out ' will be able to secure their old positions. The new Union of Slaughtermen, when registered, will be known as the Ngahauranga andPetone Union, a meeting of the men on Wednesday deciding *n the inclusion of the word "Petone."
