PEA RIFLE VICTIM.
BOYS ARRESTED,

A shooting mishap occurred yesterday. James Neil was bench loading at Parker's fiaxmill when he was struck down by a bullet from a pea rifle. The bullet came from across the river, ami passing through a canvas partition struck Neil in the back near the left shoulder. He was conveyed to a hospital, and is now in a serious condition.
Later in the day the police arrested two boys named Frederick Nealsen and William Attwood, each about 16 years of age, on a charge of shooting. Nealsen stated that they were firing with a pea rifle at a can on a post, and one shot missed the can and struck Neil.
On the application of the police the youths were remanded for a week.
Neil is aged 35, and he has a wife and four children.
