SYDNEY GAS QUESTION.
A NEW SUGGESTION.
LEGISLATION NOT NEEDED. (Press Association.—By Telegraph. Received 10.40 p.m. Sydney, March 11. A development which may obviate the necessity for a special session of Parliament to deal with the gas position has occurred. The companies have written to the Premier stating that the men having resumed, the companies do not object to cancelling that part of the agreement relating to wages, so| that the men may come before the Wages Board without further delay to have the matter settled by the Court or the Wages Board. The secretary of the Gasmen's Union, to whom the companies' decision was submitted for consideration, states that the arrangement will suit the Union, which is in favour of acting to expedite matters.
