At the inquest on Patrick Ferguson, who was found with a bullet wound in his head in the tram wait-ing-shed at Oriental Bay, a verdict was returned that deceased died from a wound self-inflicted whilst temporarily insane. A witness stated that he had received the following note from Ferguson:—"Dear old friend Tom,—l Am going to change my medicine. It will be hard to take, but I think it will cure all complaints.
