In the l"dian murder trial in which Dr Chirk and Mrs Fulhan are charged Mis Fulham has made a statement in which she says she did not know the composition of the powders. Clark said they would make her husband slightly ill. The prosecution read her letter of July 11 to the effect that an acquaintance similar in appearance to her husband had heat stroke and she suggested the possibility of producing the same symptoms if it could be done without suspicion. The Court asked Mrs Fulham to explain. She replied that she would reserve her defence. In evidence regarding her mother's murder, Miss Clark identified Sukhra as one of the murderers. Kathleen Fulham, aged 10, testified that the natives came to her mother's house on Sunday night, and Mr Clark brought them to the dining room, which was next to Kathleen's bedroom.

The natives said they wanted money and Clark replied, '' You're always wanting money." Thj natives replied: "This is the last time. It will be all over to-night." Mrs Fulham said: '"Come in the morning or the children will be asking questions." Kathleen recognised Budhu's voice. She was frightened and went to her mother's dressing room. Thence she saw two men climbing a wall.

Later, while sleeping in her mother's bed she heard a knock at the front door, and Clark came in and told her mother that thieves had broken into his house and hurt his wife. Her mother asked "What damage?" Clark replied "Head cut open, and brain exposed. On the following Tuesday Sukhra came and her mother gavr him money, saying. "Go. They're after you." __________
