CLARE RUSSELL DEAD,

London, Yesterday.
Willianr Clark 'Russell, novelist. He was born in New York in 1844, and was son of Henry Russell, a wellknown English vocalist and song composer. He joined the British mercantile 1 marine, in which he served from the age of 15 to 21. Afterwards he wrote numerous sea yarns, which enjoyed wide and enduring popularity..
