LIEDERTAFEL CONCERT.

There was a splendid audifnee for the eighth grand concert of the Liedeitafel at the Opera House last evening. Mr H. E. Gtnter conducted efficiently a string "band and 22 vocalists, who did good justice to a programme of oart songs, glees, etc., new to Palnrrston-with the cm exception of "The Drowsy Woods." The Liedertifel was in specially good form and wa' encored for Oowar-'s "Boat Song," the bright "Laughing' •(Abt), a particularly taking "Vagabonds" ot* 'Faning with a musing choius, "The Drowsv Woods," the humorous part song "Little Jack Hnrner" (Gale) which was vociferously encored. Messrs L«et, HaydOD, Drew, and W. L. Soott were also enoored for tlie quartette "Pickaninny Lnlhbv." Altogether the Society's work waß most enjoyable. Miss Stanley Bett was a capable accompanist. The Society was ably assisted by Miss Thelma Petersen, who was in fine voice and got a great reception for "Abide With Me," which was encored.
