TECHNICAL SCHOOL SPORTS.

SECOND ANNUAL GATHERING. By "Ex-Sprinter." The second annual sports under the auspices of the Palmerston North Technioal School was held on the Sportsground yesterday afternooD, and although admission was free, there was a poor attei'dauct). Everything was in first class order and the events were got off without a hi toll aud in gondtime. The energetic committee comprised Messrs Opie, Aitchesou, Melles, Parker, Taylor and Robbie, aud the seoretaries, who worked like trcjaus, were Messrs McLachlan and Barnard, Mr W. H. Collingwood made an excellent starter, and the tiinektepers were Messrs O'Connor and Tydeman aifl fcjtubbs. The iudgiug>aß';;done by members of the High School Board, teachers of High, Campbell Btreet, Terrace End, College street and Teohnioal Schools in conjunction with Messrs T. Stubbs, Goodman and Kerslake. Some exoellent finishes were witnessed in ssveral events. The championship points prize was won by S. Parker with 17 points and D. Taylor came'a good second with 16 pciuts. The cycling events were good and two weie won by D. Honore from scratch, while J. McLwhlan won the three mile with 500 yards handicap.' Miss E. Collingwood won five and was once second in the six girls'events, whioh is a good leoord. 0. Lnxford won the High Sohool mile handicap aud P.
