Some Notes For Women.

THE GAY GORDONS.

We are all looking forward to seeing a bright entertainment in "The Gay Gordons" on Monday and Tuesday. Mr de Chateau put everything in trim for Messrs Olarke and Meynell and arranged anothar special train from Feilding. His idea as to this train for the Arcadians proved so successful that it has now beocma a regular thing for the big companies, and JJ'eilrli'dgites have shown their appreciation of it. It wonld be a great boon to them, however, if the train stopped , i a the Square so that the people may get out close to the Opera Honse. I believe Mr de Chateau asked for this, bat it was not granted, though it might well be. The traius have been sn successful that the Department won't take any guarantee now, bnt inns them itself. Mr Moutrie who has been completing arrangements, represents the London interests of the Company. Two comic sketches will thus depict the chief comedians,

DAVID JEFFERSON as EDWARD SIDDONB in "THE GAY GORDONS-" AT THE SHOW.

The Spring Show, attended by His Excellency Lord Islington was simply splendid, ami exoeeded the most smguine expectations. There saeuied to be an incredible crowd of linman beings. Palroerston was bathed in a real November sun. It was ail ideal day indeed. Just what the A, and P. Association had wished in its dreams. Then the exhibition of the latest orations, some bearing 1 unmistakably the, hall mark of tlm Parisiau artist. The hats above all were the poiut of admiration. Red, ni, yellow, and blue ut ighbonr ib ssnia straw, aud strange to say, are good and harmonious neighbours. Ami why nit? One has only to think of the multi-ooionred plumage of exotic birds and bntterflies or the mixture-of corndoweis and poppies among the daring green of the grass.

Did yon see thp two toy Pomeranians at the Show? They were right at the end Df one of the rowß, •and'l really believe that mcst people mifseri them. We would have, ouly that out attention was drawn to the oo'ner. They are jost the sweetist little (lops imaginable .• with long silKen h-ir ranging from fawn to seal brown, bright little black snub noses, and fall of animation. They don't Ink Regenerates like the toy terriers, and they have the fuuniest little bark. I was told that one of Mrs G. Lewis' two that got first and second prize oost 75 gnineas in London. The third was owned by Miss Astle. Of the other pet dogs there was one jet black pug that was really faaudsome.

THE CORONATION BAZAAR, The Coronation Bazaar at the Empire Hall has bad great "attendances —in fact, too great for business. People have been simply packed in the Hall so that tliey couldn't .nove about or make the purchases they would, like to make. And roallysome of the things in the stalls arc so exceptionally good that they wonld tampt anyone with au artistic eye, One item is a handsome ear veil pianoforte pnroliased from the Dresden 00. at Wellington, aud which is being rafflad. With the lessening of the pressure of the Show crowds it Bhould ba possible to get at these good things. Another thing that has helped to crowd the Hall has been that the nightly entertainments have been so good. The club swinyiua; of the Convent girls, drill, dancing, eto, was particularly good,
