FRUITGROWERS' CONFERENCE.

. The Fruit-growers' Conference last evening resolved "that the fruit growers' association of the Dominion federate'and that the Hawke's Bay executive continue to act as the Federation Fixecutive," Other resolutions passed were (1) "that Government again be urged to inaugurate a system of free booking," (2) /'that in view of the near depletion of suitable wood Government be asked to plant waste Crown lands by means of prison labor with trees suitable for fruit cases and butter-boxes," ' (3) "that Government be urged to consider the question of restricting instead of enforcing the devastation of forests in connection with land settlement to conserve timber supplies."
A motion in favor of Government assistance for cool stores at centres of production, the associations paying interest and sinking funds, was carried; also a. motion that Government be urged to' rigidly enforce the law re diseased trees being sent out from nurseries.
