I . . ! A MATTER OP ARRANGEMENT TENDERS FOR SUPPLIES. The Library Committee reported to* last night's Borough (Joucoil meeting, having met on Monday, when there wore present—Ors Haydpn (chairman), Beale aud the Mayor. The librarian explained the method' employed by the Wellington library' for filing and distributing the books. The chairman thought the soheme ■ too elaborate for the Palrnerston library, nnless more assistants were appointed. The librarian at Wellington had'oifered to advise the committee as to what accommodation was required, and it was resolved to thank him aud state that the committee would aooept the advice. It was resolved to call tenders for the supply of magazines for two years from the expiry of the present contract, and for/the supply of colonial editions of'novels.anl American novels, the committfe to reserve theright to purchasa elsewhere it" the tenderer does not stock the books, required. Or Beale was appointed to act with the chairman, to purchase books.
