SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The championship matohes were continued ou Saturday in excellent weather, and before a lnrge attendance of spectators. The. Eia Toas easily defeatad Paliherstou in the senior gsrne, and the junior game Kia Toa v. Old Boys, wbb won by Kia Toa by the small margin of sis points. The third-olass matoh was won by Palmorston against Athletic. Ou High School ground the Ashhurat team was defeated' by 64 points to 3, and ou the Sportsground Kia Toa tbirdß beat Feilding. The Palmerston juniors defeated Athletics at Feilding. The following ate the results of the games:— SENIOR. KIA TOA 22 V. PALMERSTON 8. The Kia Toa v. Palmerston senior game was a poor exposition of football, and after the first half an hoar was one sided.' Shortly after the commencement of the game Stalker got possession and scored first blood for Kia Toas. O'Oonnor failed at goal. Both sides atcaokeil in turn pntil O'Oonnor obtained possession and raced over the line and scored. MoKewen converted. Kia Toa 8 v. Palmerston nil. Palmerston got a froo kiok and Brisooe kicked a pretty goal, and registered what proved to be the losers only score. Just before oall of half time MoKewen paßsed to O'Oonnor, who transferred the ball to Stalker, the latter sooring. Ward failed at goal, the spell ending Kia Toa 11, Palmeiston 8. The Kia Toa-Old Bojs junior matoh wasa'good game to watch and was very fast and exciting, [|uoth sides playing well. The referee did not nse his whistle very much,whioh made the game attractive to watoh. The game was very even, neither having the beßt of it and both .sides attaching in torn. Iu the first spell Redshaw scored a pretty try fitt failing with the kiok, and Geof. Tremaine scored a try ond Lucas kicked a fine goal for Old Boys. The first spell ended Old Boys 5, Kia Toa 8. In the second spell, Redshaw again scored for Kia Toas, Fitt addiog the major points. Soon after this U'itt scored but failed at goal. The next soorer was Dalton, Todd adding the.major points makiug Kia. Toa 16, Old Boys 6. Just before the call of time Mexted scored for the Old Boys, Lucas converting, the game euded Toas 16, Old Bays 10. For the winners Sheerau, Roband, Redshaw, Baigent, Rex and Daltou were most oonspiouous; while for the losers Tremaine, Sheerin, Oliver, Mexted and Luoas were the best. Mr Murray was referee.

The Falmeistou juniors journeyed to Feilding aud deieated the home tenia by 8 pouts toB, after a most interesting match. Stagpoole and Crawford eoored (or the winners and Hiotis converted one try, while' Chapman scored tor the losers. For the winners Basel,. RANGERS 2 v. FEILDINQ 2. The Rangers journeyed to Feilding on Saturday with a weak teani.boing without the sorvioes of Shoebridge, Del Tobb, Taberuuolß and Morton. A strenuous game ended with honours even, two goals a piece. The game was fait from start to finish. Rangers startetl off with a forward rush and from some good play on tho left wing Taylor centred nicely and Wagstaff scored for Hangeis. Feilding rallied and after some good play their contre eqnalisad, with a hot shot whioh beat the goalkeeper. From now onward Rangers maintained a stubborn attack and finally Wogstaff nipped in and put the ball botween the sticks.
