MANAWATU SAVAGE CLUB
A LADIES' NIGHT.
The Municipal Hall was charmingly decorated »nd arraegsri for the Savage Olnb ladies' night and induction oeramony on Saturday, and a very large number of gntsh was presout, the audience quite filling the hall. The programme was bright and full of variety, and the topical songs and choruses, contaiuiug many amnsiDg local hits, were very ut>r- ' tuning. The induction cuemonv and coronation of the new Toa Savage Dunvard, opened proobedinßs' the musical .uarab up the hall being led by the c us in one in a wheelbarrow, whet lad by Savage u'Reilly whose appemuco suggested a ooml bination olTe Ranparaha and Jack Johnson. The new Toa having been duly sworn and having in bis address introduced some most amusinir stoma, a topical ditty was given by Savages Young and Pees, and fop over two hours items followed each : otbei in qmok succession, with 1 no painful pauses. Particularly enjoyable were thei songs of Savage Do Lowe, of Nelson, who has a tenor voice of great sweetness and onltnre. Savage Martin introduced supper (catered tor by Savage Devine). ' with an amusiug chat ou sticks and doctors, while Savage Fslloces'oon. jured and incidentally ventriloquised entertainingly, items were also given by Savagej Nash, Attmore, Rogers, Rnnnerstrnm, Bennett Money, Scott, Tabor and Woolhouse! Acoompaniments were plaved by Mrs Vaughan and Savages" Naylor and De Looze. At the conclusion of the programme there was a short programme of dauoes.
