Tlio Imperial Temperance Conference has opened, those present including delegates from Victoria) South Australia, and New Zealand. Sir Kivkpatrick gave interesting details of the growth of temperance among the_ Australian Labor Members, the majority of whom were teetotallers. The conference discussed Br. Cliaupoll's paper on the effect of total abstinence on mental efficiency.
