Patten, the speculator who has cornered the wheat market, prophesies that before many months the people of Europe will struggle for bread in famine-stricken queues. HIGH PRICES PREDICTED. Mr J. J. Hill, chairman of directors of the Great Northern Railway system, prophesies that wheat will not return to low prices for a long time, ANOTHER SIDE. PATTEN'S ESTIMATE WRONG. A BIBLICAL "CORNER," Mr Jas, Wilson, Secretary of Agriculture, states that Patten is reckoning the supplies too low. He points 'out that only one wheat corner ( ever succeeded, that conducted by Joseph in Egypt. ' THE ECONOMIST'S OPINION. MANIPULATION UNIMPORTANT London, Last Night. The Economist states that Patten's oornerisfar less important to the British working olasseß than any of the past big manipulations. It is evident that the high prices in London must be attributed to other causes than the Chicago manipulation.
