nurse's fatal mimicry of a 'Werewolf.
The death of Miss Elizabeth Crayston, a nurse at the Liverpool Royal Infirmary, who was fatally burned at a fancy "dress party, was the subject of an enquiry by the Liverpool coroner recently, • A number of the nurses held a surprise party in their sitting-room at the iniirmarv, tlw surprise element consisting of the style oi fancy costume to be worn. Miss Crayston appeared as "werewolf," her costume consisting oi cottonwool.' After a whist drive Nurse Crayston, who had been warned about the dangerous character of her attire, was standing near the fire, when a spark flew out and ignited her clothing. She was immediately enveloped in flames. Miss Griffiths, another nurse, quickly threw a rug over Miss Crayston and extinguished the flames, but the woman was so badly burned that she died. The coroner commended Miss Griffiths for her pluek. The jury returned a verdict of Accidental Death,
