LEVIN NOTES.

Last Friday evening, while Hugo Zeinert, an employee at the Levin Butter Faotory, was having a spin in preparation for a oyole rond race to be held shortly, his bioyole snapped in two while in the neighbourhood of Kereru. He was thrown some distance, and was badly bruised about the head and face. He was oonvoyod to Levin in a trap, and is now doing as well as can beoxpeoted,

The other afternoon the members of the Methodist Ladies' Guild entertained Mb Bowen to a social hour at the residence of Rev. T. F. Jones, when several expressions of goodwill towardß Mrs Bowen and family were made, as well as of regret at her departure from Levin. On Sunday afternoon a united meeting of all the Sunday Schools in Levin, iuoluding the boys from the Weraroa Training Farra.waß held in

the Oeujtury Hall, whioh was crowded. Rev. Joseph White presided, and Rev. F. H. Spencer, agent for the British and Foreign Bible Society, gave an interesting address. The Training Farm Brass Band, by kind permission of Major Burlinsnn, led the Binging of several hymns, and played a seleotiop while the collection was being taken up. Mrs John Daviee has given an aore of ground at Koputaroa for a oeni6tory. The Salvation Army harvest festival was held on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. On Sunday, StaffCaptain conduoted special services, and on Monday evening the Presbyterian ohoir, under the leadership of Mr D. Papworth, supplied the programme at a tea meeting, aud on Tuesday the produce was sold by auction. There was a great display of fruit, vegetables, etc., in the barraoks, and the sale was carried out iu spirited style. '
