THE GENERAL COMMITTEE. MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the genera) corumitteo of the A. and P. Association was held yesterday. Present: Messrs S It. Lancastor(president), Jaoksou, J. 0. Batohelar, Jaoobs, M. Colieu, E. Short, E. Wilde,, Wheeler, 43iroh, Gibbons, Stevens, Davies, Gillies, Pringle, P. S. Moßao, F. Arbou, F. MoKeiizie, A. Sutherlaud, D. P. Buohanan, 0. A. J. Levett. H. G. Booth, K. W. Dalyrmplo, J. Jarvis, R. Lloyd, and J. A. McOrea Apologies were received from Messrs 0. Duuk, Tanner, S, W. Luxford and J. G. Harkness, CORRESPONDENCE was dealt with from— Hawke's. Bay, Wairarapa aud East Ooast, Wauganui. Levin and Folding A. and P. Associations, noticing appointment of delegates to proposed conference of Associations. It was resolved on the recommendation of the Finance committee, that tho conference be held on Thursday, 24th June, at 9 a.m., and <i sub-com-mitte of chairmen ot live stock committees, the president and secretary, to complete arrangements for it. Auckland A. and P. Association wrote on suggestion of Mr J. G. Wilson (president last biennial confeereuce of Associations) as to whether auother oonferenoe should be hold this year, and whether the Association could be federated into a Royal A. and P. Sooioty of New Zealand as suggested by Mr Jaoksou.

Mr Johnston was for holding the matter over in view of the looal conference. The 1 last biennial conference had taken no action since it met. It v was resolved on the motion of Mr Wheeler, seconded by Mr Birch, that the Association considers it doBirable to hold the usual biennial conference in July, 1909, at Christohuroh.

RESIGNATIONS; Resignations received from Messrs E. Walker, A. V. Buruard, T. H. Powles, J. T. Lang and F. L. Jaoksou wero aocepted NEW MEMBERS.

Mr Jacobs moved 'that it be a recommendation to the prize sohedule oommittee not to increase allotment of the prize money. Mr Hodder moved that tho prize money be reduced by £SO or more, saying that the Association gave more prize money in proportion to reoeipts than any show in tho Australasian colonies Mr Arbon seoouded pro forma. Mr Pringle said that au item that could be reduced .oonsidorablyjjwas the labour account. The amendment was lost aud the motion carried.
