DEBATE IN PARLIAMENT. MR BURNS ON HIS DEFENCE. (Press Association.—By Telegraph.— Copyright). Reoeived Maroh, 3, at D.50 p.m. London, Last Night. Labour Members sharply attacked Mr Burns' administration of the Unemployment Aot, alleging that it was ungenerous. Mr E. H. Piokersgill (Liberal) did not think the women workers of London fairly dealt with compared with the men. Mr Burns, President of the Looal Government Board, in his reply justified his refusal to sanction a farm oolony l for women on the grounds that it wonld be useless to transfer charwomen at the cost of £2OO apieoe and teach them market gardening. He had made grants and sanctioned loans wherever satisfied that it was necessary.
