Lord Selborne, High Commissioner, reviewed 20,000 Basnto horsemen at Maseru, the chief town in Basntoland, near the right bank of the Oaledon river. In an address lie said it was impossible that Basntoland should ultimately remain outside the South African Union, but the change would secure them their oountry and the maintenance of a National Conncil.
