PERSONAL.

The Right. Hon. the Prime Minister arrived by the 9.13 train from Wellington last evening,accompanied by Miss Ward, Miss Rubi Seddon, and Messrs Hislop and Matthews, private secretaries. He was met at the Station by Mr W. T. Wood and Mr J. M. Johnston and others, and accompanied the former to his home for supper, after which ho returned to the railway carriage which is to be attached to one of the early trains for Wanganui this morning. Sir Joseph and Lady Ward are to visit Auckland at the end of the week. Sir Joseph Ward expects to reach Wellington again at 6 a.m. tomorrow, and will probably go through to Anokland witli the Hon. Mr Fowlds on Friday instead of Saturday, as originally contemplated.

On Friday next, at Marton, Mr E. Newman, the recently-elected member for the Manawatu district, will be entertained at a ..banquet by his; supporters.

The funeral of Mrs W. Green took place at Bulls yesterrlay. Mrs Green, who was a* resident of Bulls for the past 30 years, leaves a grown-up family of four daughters and one son. The death occurred in a local private hospital.

Robinson, the victim of tho blasting acoident at Levin, is now completely lecovered, and his eyesight is unimpaired, but his face is considerably disfigured.

The marriage is announced of Mr A. E. Remiugton, M. P., for Rangitikei, to Miss Elizabeth Manning, only daughter of the late Sergeant Manning, of Palmerston. Mr and Mrs Remington are spending their honeymoon in Otago, and leave for Australia on the 21st inst.

Mrs Johnson, of Wanganui, and Mr P. Tombs, of Hastings, arrived yesterday afternoon to take part in the Orchestral Concert to-night.

Messrs Bowen (Turakina), W. Barber (Fuxton), and H. Gillies, of Palmerston North, have donated fleeces to the Technical School woolclassing class.

Mr Murray has been appointed house-master at the hoarding school in connection with the High School.

Mr E. T. Donne, head of the Tourist Department; Dr Coulter, the Canadian delegate for the All-Red Route: and Mr P. C. Freeth, Managing Editor of the New Zealand Times, came up from Wellington last night and put up at the Grand Hotel. They go on to Wanganui for the boat race this morning.

The death lias occurred at Wauganui of Mrs Tingey, of the firm of R. and E. Tingey and Co. Ltd. The deceased lady leaves a family of eleven children, including Mrs Manttan, of Palmerston North, and Mr S. Tingey, of Feilding.

On Thursday last, Mr Fred. Carmont, of Otaki, was married to Miss Gertrude Woodmass, of Levin, the marriage taking place at Levin.

Mr John McCullonh, Clerk to the Horowhenua County Council, has left for Paikakariki for a short season by the sea side.
