Wellington, Last Night. w With the object of keeping New Zealand and its resources prominently before the notice of readers of newspapers in the United Kingdom, the Government is making an important and interesting experiment. An arrangement with Reuter's Telegraph Company to despatch, three times per week, from New Zealand to England, a message of a hundred words, containing items of general news which will be of interest to newspaper readers at Home. The selection of the news is left entirely to Reuter's Agency, it being understood that the items are to be free from bias. Matters which no doubt will receive attention will be any important statements by the head of the Government, crop prospects, mining returns, yield of wheat, matters affecting tne extension of ttade between New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Canada and America. It is proposed to allow the newspapers of Canada and the United States to take < the message upon payment of their share of the distributing cost. The Pacific Cable will be used and the message would be intercepted eu route for the United Kingdom.
