MANAWATU RUGBY UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE . MEETS. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Rugby Union waa held Inst night. Present—Messrs F. Pirani (chairman), Stagpoole, Manning, Torsteneon, Jur\, Lyon, Armstrong and Reed. Tlie following nominations wer® received for the competition Old \ Boys, Eia Toa, Palmerßton, and Feilding all entered first, second and third-class teams, Linton Rover* second-class and High School two third-class teams. A letter was reoieved from Sandon Olnb entering, a team for the senior competition,, bnt the nomination could not beaccepted as they are within the boundaries of the Foxton sub-Union. The drawing of the fixtures and grounds was left in the hands of Messrs Pirani and Manning. Mr Manning was appointed by the* Union to act in conjunction with the Horowhenna selector to select the combined team to meet the British players. It was decided to arrange a rep. match with Horowhenna Union to be played three weeks before that match, in order to enable the selectors to choose a team. An invitation from the Rev. 0. 0. Harper for the members of the Union to attend men's service on. June 21st. The transfer from senior to second-class was granted to W. Coles and C. Hing. It was resolved to apply to the Borough Ooxmoil for the use of the Sports Ground for a practise match on Saturday next. Permission was granted to the Feilding Club to play Sandon at Sandon on Saturday. The meeting adjourned till Tuesday next. The following will represent Kia Toa 111. in their match with High School at 2.30 on the school grounds to-morrowCavill, Thorburn, Schlager, Lowe, Sheerin, Arnott, Jack* Simmonds, Gibson, Nightingale, Neilsen, Waters, Mawhiney, Lyons, Palmerston, Trow, Goff, Bergman.
