To Alfred Ball, formerly of Foxton, 1 but now of address unknown, butcher, — TAKE NOTICE that Helen Ritchie Pall, of Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, married woman, has filed her petition against you in the Supreme ; Court of New Zealand, praying for a dissolution of marriage, on the ground that during the year one thousand nine hundred and two you wilfully and without just cause deserted her at Foxton, and have without any such cause left her continuously so deserted ever since, and has sealed a writ of summons requiring you to attend at the office of this Court, and to enter an appearance in this cause, and to file your defence to the said petition. AND TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that by an Order of this Honourable Court", made on the 3rd day of April, 1908, it was ordered that a copy of this notice be .published three times in " The Manawatu Times " newspaper and three times in " The Nelson Colonist " newspaper, an interval of one week to elapse between each advertisement in each respective newspaper. AND it was further ordered that this should be deemed good and sufficient service upon you of the said petition and writ of summons in lieu of personal service. THEREFORE take further notice that unless you appear as aforesaid, and file your defence within fifty-six days from the date of completion of the substituted service as aforesaid, this cause will be heard and determined in your absence.
