AMALGAMATION ADJOURNED.

A conference of the Sluggish and Horseshoe River Drainage Boards was held at Glen Oroua yesterday, when there were presents-Messrs H. Hunt, G. Dalfcon, G. Wilton, G. Rendall, « T . Tennant, Thompson, R. Mndfprd, B. Gray, and A. B. Hooken. Mr Hunt was elected chairman. The engineer (Mr Armstrong) produced a map showing the proposed boundaries of the ward, and these were adopted. A general discussion took place of the suggested amalgamation of the two Boards and Mf Hunt moved, and Mr Gray seconded, that the meeting agree to proceed with the business of the amalgamation on the basis of the previous recommendation and also agree as to the proposed boundaries as shown on the map provided by the engineer. Mr Kendall moved, and Mr Wilton seconded, as an amendment, that the meeting adjourn until Monday 16th inst., to allow of the loan issues being considered. The motion was then withdrawn, and the amendment carried unanimously. It was decided that the Sluggish River Drainage Board meet on Thursday next to consider the matter of the loan. A vote of thanks to Mr Duncan, manager Glen Oroua 00-op. Dairy 00., for the use of his offloe terminated the meeting.
