THE ALL-RED ROUTE.

Per Press Asssociation—Copyright. London, December 4. Mr Clifford Lifton, former Minister of the Interior for Canada, discussed the AH Red Route at a meeting of the Liberal Colonial Club. He was confident the scheme would shortly succeed. Mr Reeves aunounced that New Zealand was prepared amply to contribute. Mr Collins, Commonwealth agent, mentioned that reasonable cost would be a factor in the situation. Australia was sympathetic in all Imperial matters. Lord Brassey suggested that the Canadian Pacific Railway might financially co-operate.

THE PREMIER EXPLAINS,

Wellington, Deo. 5.

Sir Joseph Ware], who returned to Wellington from Auckland to night, states there is no new development in regard to the All Red mail service." The New Zealand Government 'some time ago advised the High Commissioner that it is prepared to join in a satisfactory service with 'Canada and Australia. The project has not made any advance so far. Aβ to the America steam service, the Oceanic Company is still awaiting the decision of the United States Government with regard to extending the subsidies under which it previously ran to New Zealand. Nothing has been heard on this point.
