GERMAN CLAIMS.
Per Press Association.—Copyright. Berlin, December 3. The Kolnische Zeitung says that Germany is very desirous to settle the claims of Barns, Philp and Co., Sydney, in connection with the island trade in a spirit of equity, and equal goodwill on the British side regarding German claims in connection with the Boer war is presupposed.

It is announced in London that Sir E. Grey is considering the propriety of arbitration on the latter subject.
