Mr Perry's report stated that:: "MrAndrew Jack is fixing main and terminating ventilators whioh are note approved by the' Council. I consider this a breach of the sanitary by-laws. "Mr D. Q'ReHly lias completed! the sanitaryplumbing work at a. number of houses with the exception, of fixing mains and torminal vents. There are at present, about twenty houses left .without scowls on the* vent pipes and he is still continuing; tlie sanitary work without fixina-the cowls adopted by the Council. £ should strongly recommend that no more permits be issued for pluu«bing until the whole of'the above work is completed," Mr Andrew Jack, who addressed the Council on behalf of the deputa* tion said that a ventilator should be adopted of an approved pattern , and the Council should consider both the ratepayers and the members of the plumbing profession. All they asked was fair play and he would leave with the Council data in connection with various ventilators which should prove that what the plumbers were asking was nofc in any way out of place.
