The Company's farewell production, to-night will be a romantic play of absorbing interest by Sir Arthur Conan Doyleentitled "Brigadier Gerard." It is tt strong play, full of unexpected denouncement and surprise, with a fine mixture of love, intrigue and politics, the whole providing a brisk and clever entertainment, with light touches of comedy. The play will be picturesquely staged with gorgeous military costumes of tbe period, and with scenery by Mr Williamson's capable staff of artists, showing a French farmhouse, the boudoir of Comtesse de Roquelaire, Tallyrand's saloon, and the Emperor's study. The London Telegraph gave the following description ot the original production, "Romance— iw, full-bodied romance—that laughs at ixrir possibilities and derides history, baft beloved by the English playgoer."
