SHEEP RETURNS.
The interim return of sheep in thecolony on April 30th, 1907, presented to Parliament ehowe :— Increase. Auckland 765,896 133,969> Napier-Gisbome 5,018,266 155,626 Wellington and West Coast 4,983,518 413,444 Marlborough and Nelson 1,117,866 69,299 Canterbury and Kaikoura 5.126,400 135,498 Otago 8,895,763 71,48* Totals 20,816,799 708,828 The increase in the North Island was 708,039, and the increase in the South Island 5289, the total increase being 708,328. The Canterbury-Kai-konra district figures show a decrease of 185,493.
