Four thousand strikers on the Rand have determined to fight to a finish and have cabled labour bodies in Australia, New Zealand and America for assistance. . London, July 14. ; Mr Onthwaite, a , labour leader on the Rand, in a letter to the DailyChronicle, states that the miners a month ago applied to the British trade unions through Mr Ramsay Mac Donald for financial assistance or to compel the Imperial Government to wihdraw troops but no response was made. Pbetoria July 14. General Botha replying to a miners' deputation declined to legislate in favour of arbitration this year. He advised the men to resume work. The deputation repudiated responsibility for possible bloodshed in view of the attitude of the Cabinet.
