The city authorities of Milan, Italy, are engaged in disinterring and removing 80,000 bodies of patients who have died at the municipal hospital at the end of the seventeenth oentury. These bodies, which were buried in the seventy eight crypta under the " Rotunda," are practically intact, in conrequence of their being almost hermetically walled in. Hot air is now being introduced into one crypt after the other for the purpose of shrivelling the bodies, which are then taken in carefully olosad railway carriages to the Musocco Cemetery outside the city.
