Sydney, May 7.

Arrived • Constance Craig from Hokiangi, Daniel from Kaipara, Mayflower from Greymouth, Maroro from Auckland. All report delay owing to stormy weather in the Tasman Sea. One of the Maroro's crew, Petersen, fell from aloft into the sea, fracturing his thigh, but was rescued.

The barque Northern Chief, which left Newcastle on the 30th for Auckland, put into Sydney to-night in distress. A heavy gale was met off the coast and the seas swept the deck and flooded the cabin. The captain and mate were below and had an exciting experience in getting free of wreckage.
