FEUDING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. .

At the meeting of the above last evening Mr J. W. Bramwell presided. A letter was read from the Minister of Justice, stating that the amount of work transacted in the District Court at Palmerston being very small he could not see his way to hold a District Court at Feilding.— It was decided to ask Mr Lethbridge, M.H.R., to make representations on the matter. It was decided to again approach Oroua County Council relative to the sharp corner at Wilson's, on Makino road. The Chairman stated that a strong deputation would wait on the Minister of Railways relative to the shortage of trucks. The Chairman was appointed delegate to the Conference.

It wa3 decided, on the motion of Mr Cobbe, that a letter be sent to the Minister of Labour, through Mr Lethbridge, requesting that the permission hitherto given to close factories on shop premises on the day set apart for shop holiday be continued until Parliament has an opportunity of dealing with the matter. It was resolved to ask the Bailway Department to provide a covered verandah at the goods shed for protection of carters. The, Chairman drew attention to the necessity of forming an Employees Association, but action was deferred.
