The annual meeting of the New Zealand Chess Association was held to-night. A letter was received from Hon. J. liigg, suggesting that for the future cash prizes should not be given at championship contests. No action was taken. Mr Justice Denniston was elected President, and Mr I l '. 13. Sharp secretary and treasurer. It was decided that in future Congress should be held at Easter instead ef Christmas, and that next Congress be held in June. A resolution regarding reduction of time limit was held over till June meeting.
