Stock Report.
The, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that at the sale at Palmerstou 011 Thursday, owing to the rough weather and flooded state of the country stock did not come forward as advertised. The sheep entered were unable to get to the yards. Bidding was slack and very little business was done at auction, but bulk of the yarding was quitted afterwards. Quotations : —Weaners 15s to 235, yearlings 31s, 2-year heifers _ 33s 6d, fat and forward cows and heifers £3 15s, 18-months steers £2 14s, 2year steers £2 17s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Feilding, report for week ending 4th inst. as follows: —Apiti, Tuesday. —The yards were fairly well filled with both sheep and cattle. Bidding for both descriptions of stock was good, with the result that the yarding was cleared at auction. Quotations. —Sheep: Mixed lambs good 12s 4d, f.m. ewes in lamb 10s 3d, 2 and. 4-tooth ewes 16s Id. Cattle: Weaner steers 27s (id, mixed weaners 15s, 20s, 2os; 18-months steers 52s 6d, 58s; 2>£-year heifers £3 4s, 18-months empty heifers 30s, forward heifers £3 13s, forward cows £3 4s, { £3 18s 6d; cows and calves £2 10s, springing cows £4 ss. Mr W. D. Johnston's sale, Wednesday.— Owing to the very rough weather the attendance was small. With the exception of the cows, for which there were no buyers, everything was sold at fair prices. Sheep: Ewe lambs 13s 7d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 20s 6d, fat ewes 12s 6d. Cattle: Springing heifers £3 17s 6d, heifers in calf 28s 6d. Feilding, .Friday.— There was a fair entry of sheep and cattle, the rough weather, however, preventing several lots from coming forward. There was a good demand for sheep, and we quitted all our lots at satisfactory prices. Sheep: Wethers 14s 9d, 15s 7d, 16s, 17s; fat and forward ewes 13s Id. Cattle: Weaners 15s to 17s 6d, 2-year heifers 85s to 37s 6d, 18-months steers £2 10s 6d, 2%-year steers £3 17s 6d, springing heifers £3 ss, fat heifers £4 2s, forward cows £3 lis to £3 14s 6d, bulls 25s to £2.
