SLAUGHTERMEN'S AWARD.

The Arbitration Court's award in Gisborne slaughtermen's dispute provides for au inorea.se of wages for slaughtermen to 2&! per hundred for freezing sheep aud lambs, 20s for leg of mutton sheep, 18s for potters, 4<l each for rams, 2s for bullocks, Is for pig and present rates for calves. An eight-hour day is provided but employers have tho right to call upon men to start at an earlier lxonr than six o'clock in which case (id shall be paid for each half hour worked before (') a.m., in addition to piece work rate.
