A STEAMER ON FIRE.
Per Press Association —Copyright. Brisbane, May 4. The German-Australian steamer Bielefeld is on file. The outbreak originated in the copra cargo. Received May 4, 8.57 p.m. Brisbane, May 4. The Bielfield is still burning. The plates on her port sido are red hot. 1 his morning a hole was cut through the plates, and the water pouring in she is settling down by the stem. Received May 6, 1.8 a.m. Brisbane, May 5. The firo was subdued after burning fifty hours. The principal damage is in No. 5 hold, whore there were 140 bales of wool. The damage by fire and water is roughly estimated at .£SOOO. Some of her plates were buckled.
